Youth Engagement Program

Funded by the Government of Canada, our Youth Engagement Program (YEP) supports youth facing barriers to employment ages 15-30 with paid employment placements and employability skill development.

What does the program offer?

Our Youth Engagement Coordinators provide one on one support and group-based workshops for youth. Youth develop a broad range of skills and knowledge in order to participate in the labour market. Supports are unique to each young person. We also provide service referrals and system navigation.

Employers receive wage subsidies to offer paid job placements within their businesses. Placements have included Boston Pizza, Pet Value, Impressions Printing, Briwood Farmers Market, Missions Thrift Store, Fresh Co., TSC Farm Store and others.

YEP Coordinators provide on site support to youth and employers to assist with youth transitioning into employment.

Who is eligible for this program?

To be eligible for this program you need to be To be eligible for this program you need to be between the ages of 15-30 and facing some barrier to employment such as transportation, education or lack of experience. Eligible youth are out of work and out of school. Youth participants must be interested in working 30 hours per week and able to commit to a supportive program.
