Get Gorgeous for Grad

DONATIONS SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE:

Though we are very grateful for our community donations, we have made the decision to temporarily suspend the acceptance of all Get Gorgeous for Grad formal wear donations at this time. We will keep you posted whether donations will resume and the status of the program as a whole. Thank you for your understanding.

Spring is a special time of year when our community celebrates the achievements of young men and women as we donate new and gently worn dresses, suits, ties, shoes and more to those who may not be able to afford such items for graduation or prom. Through this program youth celebrate this important academic milestone and build self-confidence.  Registered participants in Grade 8 or High School will receive a one-on-one fashion consultation with our YWCA team, the opportunity to select a dress or suit from dozens of colours and styles, the knowledge that our community values their achievements….and it’s all for free!

How to participate

If you wish to participate in our upcoming Get Gorgeous for Grad program please follow our YWCA Facebook page to hear when we post our Call-For-Students. Once registration is open simply call our main office at (519) 631-9800 to book a date and time during our week-long event.

Donations accepted year-round

This program would not be possible without the generosity of our community! If you are an individual or a business who wishes to donate formal wear (for girls and boys), shoes, jewelry or gift cards to a salon or barber please bring your donations to our main office located at 16 Mary Street West, St.Thomas during regular business hours. Items must be in good condition and clean or they will not be accepted.

A tax receipt may be provided to you or your business for your donation based on the following standards;

Personal donations from an individual of gently used items: a tax receipt will be granted for $50 per dress or suit, up to a maximum of $150.

Retail donations from a business of new items or gift certificates: a tax receipt will be granted for the final sale price which includes reduced prices.
